Ohori Park is arguably the most beautiful park in the whole city. It was actually a reclaimed area modeled
after the West Lake in China, and was opened in 1929. It offers a large pond, a 2km jogging track around it,
3 beautifully sculpted islands in the middle, and lots of space to breathe. Both daytime and nighttime
offer a wonderful, open atmosphere. There are row boats and paddleboats for rent from March through October,
and next to the park is a 12,000 sq. meter Japanese garden (entrance fee 240 yen).
There is also an annual fireworks festival there every August--expect a tsunami of people to come in for it.
Access: The park is just next to the Ohori Koen subway station; use station exit #3, or #6 for the elevator.
